About Us

Ranjinie Perera A.M.I.
is the Director of North Austin Montessori School. She received her AMI Montessori Training from the Good Shepherd Maria Montessori Training Centre in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She has taught in Montessori Classrooms in the United States, Canada, The Maldives and Sri Lanka for over 40 years.

Tamara Perera B.A., M.B.A. is the Director of Arbor Montessori Academy. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her M.B.A. from St. Edwards University. With her mom being a Montessori teacher, Tamara (Tammy) has been exposed to Montessori since birth. She started as a Montessori student and over the years has enhanced her practical experiences with Montessori training courses and AMI conferences.

Ranjinie and her daughter Tammy opened North Austin Montessori in 1998. They relocated from Beaumont, Texas where they owned and operated Children’s House Montessori School (AMI Accredited) for several years.

The school is a non-sectarian, co-education organization run according to the principles of Association Montessori International (AMI), the oldest Montessori organization that was formed by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1929.

In March 2008, they opened Arbor Montessori Academy. The school is located in the Arboterum area at 11726 Jollyville Road (between Duval and Oak Knoll).

They are also in the process of building a new branch on W. Parmer Lane in the Avery Ranch area. The new school, Parmer Montessori Academy, will serve the Cedar Park and greater Austin community.

In an era when quality education is of increasing concern to parents, the directors are committed to providing the very best in learning experiences for children from 12 months to 7 years.
